Lincoln, New Hampshire

Note:  This is a "blast from the past" post as we work our way backwards to catch you up on our previous destinations. Please remember that we will not be doing any current postings for the next couple of months as we're visiting with family and friends in California.

"New England in the Fall" was something that I had wanted to see for a long time. We finally made it! Let me tell you, the autumn colors of 2020 did not disappoint, and New Hampshire sure played its part!

I wasn't quite sure what to expect from an RV park with the name "Country Bumpkins", but we had a very positive experience there. It was very small and charming and the WiFi was phenomenal! That's a rarity among RV parks! One of the owners told me when we checked in, that we could stream to our heart's content -- that's unheard of! More typically RV parks will tell us that their WiFi is not for streaming or downloading; it's only for basic email use.

See what I mean? How could we not love this place?!

All those cute critters aside, the park was in a lovely natural setting right up against the Pemigewasset River.

Just a short drive from our RV park was The Flume Gorge in Franconia Notch State Park. For just $4/person and two miles of walking we were treated to some amazing scenery.

This friendly gent was ready to assist us in the visitors center at Franconia Notch State Park

We drove the Kancamagus Highway, aka "The Kanc". The Kanc, a 34.5 mile scenic drive, is well known as one of the best fall foliage viewing areas in the country.

Scenes from along the The Kanc:

We hiked the Boulder Loop Trail, a 3-mile loop along the Kancamagus Highway. The hike offered a variety of scenery and some stunning views.

The trail was marked by yellow blazes; this one was particularly encouraging.

Now a close-up for you. Anybody hungry?

A kaleidoscope of leaves

After our hike we stopped at a brewery that was fortunate enough to have a large lawn area with seating where one could be socially distanced while enjoying a beer.

Hops aplenty!

Mary would sometimes snap pictures of us without our knowledge; we'd find out later when we shared photos.
