The Tiffin Motorhome Service Center - Red Bay, Alabama

 Visited Nov. 30 - Dec. 4, 2020

Note:  This is an "after the fact" post as we work our way backwards to catch you up on our previous destinations.

Red Bay, Alabama is where the Tiffin Motorhome Company is located and where the Beast was born. It was our second time here. The first trip was for an "emergency" repair of sorts (more on that when we rewind all the way back to August 2020). This winter trip was already scheduled from the get-go, as we'd wanted to see the Tiffin operation, and we figured there would be a few things that would need fixing; so we just kept Red Bay in the plan.

We arrived November 30 amidst flurries of snow and a temp of 36°! It was definitely hot cocoa weather!

Hot cocoa with real hand-whipped cream! Yum!

When in Red Bay we stay at Red Bay Acres RV Resort. It's not really a "resort"; you wouldn't want to vacation there, but it's a pretty decent little RV park. 99.9% of the rigs parked there are having work done at the Tiffin Service Center. There's a man-made lake with fountains, a restaurant, a pickle ball court, and of course, the obligatory RV park store (full of souvenirs and camping necessities).

A crisp, cold day in Red Bay

We had a very productive stay in Red Bay:

- Arrived on Monday

- Got the Beast washed and waxed on Tuesday (in Ricky's front yard; Ricky is a manager at Tiffin, but he has guys who do this in his driveway!)

- Got Marty's driver's chair repaired on Wednesday (in Belmont, Mississippi -- just seven miles from Red Bay -- at the vendor who manufacturers these chairs for Tiffin)

- Took the Beast into the Tiffin "Express Bay" on Thursday for our list of things to be fixed

- Took the Beast to Tiffin's Mechanics Bay to get Koni shocks (an upgrade) installed on Friday

- Departed town on Saturday

There was no resting for us; we packed up and moved the Beast every single day!

Downtown (and I use that term loosely) Red Bay is all decked out for Christmas; but where is everybody?

We gave this home the "Best Decorated in Red Bay" award
